A Quick Word About Books

Growing up in the '70s and '80s, I had the privilege of experiencing life before the internet. Fueled by wild imaginations, my brothers and I would create extreme adventures, contests, and challenges. For us, life was an endless parade of rousing activity. But every once in a while, we paused long enough to read a book.

Books provided an escape from the constant stream of commotion. Even today, reading your favorite genre can deliver the perfect combination of relaxation and entertainment. No other activity grants the same effect. Books also have staying power. Most adults can recall a favorite book from their childhood that they read over and over. Such works are simply irreplaceable. And they're meant to be shared.

As an author, my goal is to create books similar to the ones I loved as a child - entertaining stories that made me smile (and maybe think a little). I truly hope you enjoy the works featured on this site. And if they're good enough, perhaps you'll share them with others. Thanks for visiting. Please come back often as we expand our site and add new books.

"A book is a gift you can open again and again."

Originally from North Carolina, I grew up in a home affectionately dubbed "the Kool-Aid House" where kids from everywhere would congregate to play. Two things were certain: (1) There was always a game in progress, and (2) there was always room for one more kid.

After earning a graduate degree in biomechanics, I worked at Georgia Tech with some of the finest brains in the country. During this stretch, I started a family who supported me as I switched careers and became a firefighter. For 15 years, I rode the trucks with a bunch of like-minded knuckleheads; true heroes and some of the funniest people I know.

Throughout my life, I've enjoyed remarkable experiences with remarkable people. One of my favorite pastimes is to recount the hilarious (sometimes poignant) events, characters, perspectives, and lessons we've endured along the way. Naturally, they serve as the inspiration for most of my books.
